Professional Terminology Notes
- AWG (American Wire Gauge): The North American standard for wire sizes. Note that the larger the AWG number, the smaller the wire diameter.
- Stranding (Conductor Construction): The conductor consists of multiple fine copper strands (e.g., 7 x 0.16 means 7 strands of 0.16mm diameter). This stranded structure significantly enhances flexibility, making it ideal for routing within narrow energy storage cabinets.
- Bare Copper (BC) vs. Tinned Copper (TC): Bare copper offers excellent conductivity. Tinned copper provides enhanced corrosion and oxidation resistance, which is highly recommended for humid or corrosive environments.
- O.D. (Overall Diameter): The total diameter of the finished wire, which is a critical parameter for calculating routing space and selecting appropriate conduits or cable glands.
